According to multiple reports emanating from England and Spain this evening, Manchester United star Ander Herrera will reject any and all advances from other teams this summer, with the Spaniard desperate to remain at Old Trafford.
Camp Nou interest
Over recent days, it has been rumoured that Barcelona could be preparing a summer swoop for the 27-year-old, with Ernesto Valverde (the favourite to take over as manager at the club) a long-time admirer of Herrera.
Valverde actually managed Herrera during the Spanish midfielder’s final season at Athletic Bilbao, with the former Espanyol and Valencia boss viewing his one-time star as the ideal addition to the Camp Nou club’s aging midfield.
Settled
However, the twice-capped Spanish international will rebuff any advances from the Catalunyan club in favour of staying in Manchester, where he has found his feet this season under Jose Mourinho after a difficult spell under the pragmatic Louis Van Gaal.
Form
Herrera received the Player of the Year award earlier this month at the recently-crowned Europa League champions, with the stellar performances of the Spaniard at the heart of Mourinho’s side set to continue for many years to come.
